The Twins

A Little Out There

Here's a red head girl with large green eyes. She's lost in thoughts and a little 'out there'. She will make a beautiful addition to a little girl's bedroom wall, or she can bring a smile to the kid in all of us. :)

The Hermit and the Ocean Twins

I can picture their hair flowing like waves. ;) this one's a 9x12 in ink and markers on bristol paper. I'm thinking about painting a background digitally and will update then, meanwhile, enjoy these pretties!

Birdhouse Girl

This one is a 6x6 little watercolor and ink piece on Arches watercolor paper.  I wish I could scan it better because the lines appear a lot smoother in person! Anyway! I feel this is going to be a fun series!

Tree Boy

One morning, Tree Boy woke up with a bird or two, or three in his branches!

Coffee and ink!

I'm having fun Staining watercolor paper with coffee and drying the sheets into my oven. Today I drew with ink, graphite, markers and color pencils on the first sheet I stained this way and this is the result.

Graphite on 140lb acid free watercolor paper. Forgive the quality of the pictures. I'm using my phone!

Another watercolor

I'm discovering a new love for watercolors. I'm experimenting with student grade colors and pad watercolor paper. Can't wait to get a set of pan watercolors and some thick arches paper!!!

When the leaves fall

Here's a little sneak peek of my newest acrylic painting in progress. I've been painting it on and off for the past couple of days as my husband is at hospital. Painting can be such a stress relief.

Welcome to my new art blog!

Facebook is nice to say a few words but I couldn't have enough space there to talk about my art the way I want to!

So here I am, hoping this blog will become the main area where I can exchange ideas and display my artsies for the world to see.

So yesterday I finally received in the mail the Sakura jelly roll pens I had ordered on Amazon. I got a good deal on both sets of 10 pens each. One was below $10 and the other about $14. The main reason I got them was because they're great to add finishing touches to mixed media pieces. So here are two pieces I did yesterday using Copic markers, Sakura micron pens for the inking, and Sakura jelly roll pens for the highlights.

The scan doesn't show the raised lines of the Sakura glaze jelly roll pens I've used here, but these are fantastic!
